Rooted Facilitators

Beth Prewitt

Beth loves helping people learn how to abide in the love of God and trust Him to produce fruit in their lives. She holds a Bible degree from Lipscomb University and a Master of Theological Studies in Christian Leadership from Gordon‑Conwell Theological Seminary, and she has served in youth ministry as well as taught high school Bible.

Even with that background, the past 18 years of being a mom to three kids have shaped her spiritual life more deeply than anything else. Motherhood became the place where her faith was stretched, refined, and strengthened, and it continues to be the training ground where she learns to depend on God in practical, everyday ways.

Beth hopes to encourage others to abide in God’s love in whatever season they find themselves — whether it’s full of joy, uncertainty, exhaustion, or growth. Her desire is to help people experience God’s presence in the ordinary rhythms of life and to trust Him to do the transforming work.

Cinde Rawn

Cinde is a Spiritual Director dedicated to creating a spacious place where individuals can encounter the God who delights in them. Her holistic approach weaves together classical spiritual disciplines with integrative, embodied practices. Cinde comes to Rooted with deep gratitude for the people and practices that have supported her own journey to understand and accept her belovedness.

She finds joy in the beauty of nature and the arts, or savoring the simple joys of life with her husband, their children, and "grands."

Cinde is trained in Somatic Experiencing, the Ignatian Exercises, Focused Listening, Internal Family Systems, and, currently, Integrative Coaching. She is a graduate of the Soul Care Institute and serves on its Board.

Sandy Smith

Sandy Smith is a ministry leader and pastor’s wife who resides with her family in Michigan. She enjoys coordinating the pediatric volunteers, many of them college students, at the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, and she regularly shares her family’s cancer story with 2nd-year medical students. She has edited and/or contributed to three books on topics related to pediatric cancer and palliative care. Sandy has published in Pediatric Blood and Cancer and presented on the topic of brain tumor tissue donation with a team from Oregon Health & Science University. She coordinated the 2014 Pediatric Cancer Nanocourse in conjunction with the Monje Lab at Stanford. She has a bachelor’s in early childhood education and began learning about trauma, as a foster parent, in 2017.

Through Sandy’s interest in attachment theory, God led her to a journey of personal healing she didn’t realize she needed. Sandy has experience facilitating a variety of groups, including Trauma Healing Groups in partnership with the Trauma Healing Institute. She is fascinated by anything related to neuroscience, she enjoys reading, writing, and languages, and she loves the ocean.

What people are saying . . .

Desiree:

"Rooted helped me become more present with myself and my body, and made emotional regulation feel truly achievable. The course offered valuable insights into attachment styles, the nervous system, and how to integrate this knowledge and the practical tools into everyday life. Cyd provided exceptional guidance, leadership, and coaching. I learned so much from her and felt deeply supported by her compassionate, grounded presence throughout the course. I look forward to continuing to learn from Cyd and would take another class with her in a heartbeat!"

John:

"The perspective I gained regarding healthy/unhealthy attachments was very useful. I grew in awareness of how Jesus is always with me, reminding me of the healthy attachment I have with Him, my Father and Holy Spirit. I’ve appreciated working with Cyd on my personal journey of joy. "

Mariley:

"Rooted has helped me learn to navigate some of the deep nameless blockages I have had in attaching to God. The cohort as a group was very frightening to me at first, yet I quickly grew to love every one of them. I am convinced that there is a Holy Presence in having others witness our life struggles. I'm an avid learner, always looking for ways to get closer to God and be more like Jesus...this was something unlike anything I have experienced. I recommend it to everyone who wants a deeper connection to God."
