Description

Why do some of us avoid talking to God while others of us pray streams of consciousness? Why do some of us need to be emotionally connected to believe God is real while others don't need to have emotional experiences at all for our faith to remain intact? The science of attachment shows that our early life experiences or later life traumas create the need for us to develop survival strategies that then shape the way we go through life. Our early years set the stage for us to unconsciously prioritize relational intimacy or independence. But God has made us for both. In Attaching to God we will explore the gifts and shortcomings of the two most common insecure attachment strategies, and learn how to begin building a more secure attachment with God and others.
